Seam Allowance
Ask for seam allowance by edge type. Pattern view shows the stitch line inside a second cut outline where allowance is added.
Amounts on this crew
- 1 cm: shoulder and side seams on the bodice, and the sleeve inseam
- 0.5 cm: neckline, armholes, and the sleeve cap
- 3 cm: bodice hem and sleeve hem
The basic crew starts without seam allowance (stitch line only). This version keeps the same geometry and adds those amounts on every outer edge.
Example
“add seam allowance: 1cm on the shoulder and side seams, 0.5cm on the neckline armhole and sleeve cap, and 3cm at the hems”
Open Pattern view to see the cut outline outside the stitch line. Switch to 3D if you want the same fitted crew on the avatar. Seam allowance is a pattern attribute, so the simulation silhouette stays the same.
How to prompt
Say seam allowance, then the amounts by edge: seams, finishes (neckline / armhole / sleeve cap), and hems. You can name panels bodice and sleeve when the hem or side values differ. See Body Landmarks for shared part names in 3D.
